# MemberPress PDF Invoice Pro – Installation Guide

# Overview

[MemberPress PDF Invoice](https://nippylaunch.com/mp-files/memberpress-downloads-pro.zip/) adds downloadable PDF invoices to MemberPress transaction and account workflows. It can include business identity, transaction details, and invoice presentation configured for the membership site.

**When to use it.**Use it when members or administrators need consistent invoice documents for MemberPress purchases and the site's accounting/tax requirements have been reviewed.

# Before You Begin

**Platform compatibility.**Use a WordPress and PHP combination supported by the current developer release. Minimum versions can change; verify the current official product page or plugin/theme metadata before production deployment. Do not bypass an activation or compatibility warning without identifying its cause.

## Requirements and dependencies

- **-**MemberPress must be installed, activated, and configured.
- **-**The add-on currently requires an eligible MemberPress plan as stated in official documentation.
- **-**Accurate business name, address, tax, currency, and transaction settings.
- **-**Accounting or legal review for jurisdiction-specific invoice requirements.

## Pre-installation checks

- **-**Back up the [Database](https://nippylaunch.com/encyclopedia/database/) and test on staging.
- **-**Confirm the Resource Library download is actually the PDF Invoice add-on before upload.
- **-**Review invoice numbering, tax, refund, and customer-information requirements with the business owner.

# Installation

1. 1. Preferred licensed workflow: open MemberPress > Add-ons, locate PDF Invoice, and install/activate it when the account entitlement is available.
2. 2. [Provided-ZIP workflow: go to Plugins](https://nippylaunch.com/mp-files/memberpress-downloads-pro.zip/)> Add New Plugin > Upload Plugin, [upload the verified PDF Invoice add-on ZIP, install, and activate it.](https://nippylaunch.com/mp-files/memberpress-downloads-pro.zip/)
3. 3. Confirm MemberPress remains active and the PDF Invoice settings appear.
4. 4. Do not upload an archive labeled for MemberPress Downloads; stop and resolve the file mismatch.

# License Activation

1. 1. Keep the main MemberPress license active under MemberPress > Settings > License. (First, check whether the Pro version is already active, as manual license entry may not be required.)
2. 2. Add-on entitlement depends on the connected MemberPress plan. The ZIP alone does not create a license or support entitlement.

**Important.**A premium download does not automatically establish ownership of the original developer's account, license key, automatic-update service, cloud features, or direct support. Use only [Credentials](https://nippylaunch.com/encyclopedia/credentials/) that are valid for this site and were supplied through an authorized account or an explicit [Nippy Launch](https://nippylaunch.com/encyclopedia/nippy-launch/) entitlement.

# Initial Setup

1. 1. Open the PDF Invoice settings in MemberPress and add the correct business identity and logo.
2. 2. Review invoice number, date, currency, tax, and customer details supported by the current interface.
3. 3. Complete a sandbox transaction and download the invoice as administrator and member.
4. 4. Test refunds, offline transactions, and pro-forma behavior only when they are part of the business workflow.

# Recommended Configuration

- **-**Use accounting-approved company and tax information.
- **-**Do not change numbering conventions midyear without an accounting decision.
- **-**Treat invoices as records: protect access, backups, and retention.
- **-**Test logo size and long addresses to prevent clipping.
- **-**Reconcile the invoice with the MemberPress transaction and payment gateway.

# Main Features

The installed edition can provide the following primary capabilities. Availability may depend on the active plan, add-ons, and current release.

- **-**PDF invoice generation for MemberPress transactions
- **-**Business identity and logo
- **-**Member-accessible invoice downloads
- **-**Invoice presentation and transaction details
- **-**Offline/pro-forma options where supported

# How to Use It

**Practical starting workflow.**Create a low-value sandbox membership transaction, open the member account, download the PDF, and compare name, address, amount, tax, currency, transaction ID, and date with MemberPress and the gateway.

# Integrations

- **-**MemberPress transactions and account page
- **-**MemberPress payment gateways
- **-**Tax/accounting workflows require independent validation; do not assume the add-on is an accounting system

Enable an integration only after its account ownership, permissions, data flow, and failure behavior have been tested. Keep secret [Credentials](https://nippylaunch.com/encyclopedia/credentials/) out of page content and screenshots.

# Common Issues & Troubleshooting

- **- Add-on cannot activate.**Confirm MemberPress is active, versions are compatible, and the ZIP is truly PDF Invoice.
- **- Invoice link is missing.**Check add-on activation, eligible transaction status, account-page configuration, and permissions.
- **- Business data is wrong.**Correct the invoice settings and determine whether historical documents must be regenerated or preserved.
- **- PDF layout clips content.**Reduce logo dimensions, shorten unsupported formatting, and test with current fonts/data.
- **- Download file has the wrong add-on name.**Do not install it; resolve the Resource Master/download mapping first.

If the problem persists, reproduce it on staging, capture the exact error and relevant logs, and compare the behavior with nonessential plugins temporarily disabled. Restore the production site rather than troubleshooting destructively in place.

# Updating the Plugin or Resource

1. 1. Back up and review MemberPress/add-on compatibility.
2. 2. Update on staging, then generate and download invoices for new and existing test transactions.
3. 3. Reconcile totals and formatting before production.

- **-**Confirm that the backup completed and can be accessed independently of WordPress.
- **-**Review the official changelog and compatibility notes.
- **-**Update during a low-risk window and keep a tested rollback path.
- **-**Clear relevant caches and perform the product-specific functional tests listed above.

# Uninstallation

1. 1. Export required invoices and transaction records before removal.
2. 2. Confirm legal/accounting retention obligations.
3. 3. Removing the add-on may remove access to regeneration even if transaction data remains.

Deactivation and deletion are not the same as data removal. Confirm the product's current cleanup options, [Database](https://nippylaunch.com/encyclopedia/database/) tables, uploaded files, remote data, connected accounts, and continuing external billing or scheduled actions before removal.

# Security & Best Practices

- **-**Restrict invoice and transaction access.
- **-**Do not expose invoice URLs publicly.
- **-**Protect backups containing customer addresses and payment references.
- **-**Have accounting/legal professionals validate required fields and retention.
- **-**Use unique administrator accounts, least-privilege roles, HTTPS, and multi-factor authentication where supported.
- **-**Keep the resource, WordPress, PHP, theme, and dependencies on supported versions.
- **-**Store backups and recovery instructions outside the WordPress site.
